lol what game were you watching?? Clark ran some bad routes and slow as molasses, Stokely as well and slow as molasses, dickosn fast as lightening but couldn't catch aids if he was injected with it... the only receiver not named torrey that looked decent enough to keep playing after thursday was brown,

Preston was there, and he was very clear that the play in question wasn't shown to anyone in the booth. It's rare for me to say, but I'm siding with Preston on this one.

As for Byrne, by the end of the game everyone would have had a chance to see the play. We are talking about seeing it at the time in question. Any good PR man is going to prep the coach on what may be asked, especially if the broadcasting crew made such a big deal out of it. It doesn't mean he saw it at the time.

With all the technology available there is no excuse for the NFL to have such a stupid replay system. There is no way the onus should be on the teams to make sure the officials get it right, and the there is no way a team should be able to game the system by rushing a play in order to get a call they shouldn't get. If the idea is to have integrity in the game and get the call right, the NFL should take a lesson from the NHL and centralize the reviews in one national studio, with one consistent review crew. A replay system like that would speed up the game. Instead we have a field referee going under the hood and wasting five minutes trying to make a call that someone in a New York studio could make in 40 seconds. It's beyond stupid.

I agree with this 100%.
The other problem with the system as it currently works is... What if the refs make that same exact mistake four times instead of twice. Harbaugh challenges and wins the first three, but the fourth he is SOL and not allowed to challenge it, despite being right that the refs got it wrong all three times previously? It makes no sense. If the refs make four mistakes in one game they should all be "eligible for correction".
