Ladies and Gents Week 1 is finally here and I couldn't be happier.
There are probably a few more minor roster moves to be made between now and Thursday but for the most part the final dust of the off-season has settled and it's time for the games to matter! I figured this could be the pre-game thread for News, Notes, Opinions and Predictions.

Re: Week 1: Ravens v.s. Broncos
Ravens 34 - Broncos 19 (The Broncos couldn't stop the Ravens last January - no reason to expect that they will this time around.
The Broncos and the talking heads are going to be astounded by the Ravens D.

Those numbers would be fine by me (with the W of course.) Unfortunately, I have no score to predict as of now. The only thing I can predict (of course to quote James "Clubber" Lang) is... Pain. The defense will deliver it, and that will help us win it.

I can feel it. Opening night!! Ravens Football, and a faster D, I can't wait to let those dogs out. It will be pain. Even more painfully that we will win , 28-17. We will party Thursday even in another city. Purple Pride

Re: Week 1: Ravens v.s. Broncos
The Ravens will be challenged right out of gate but this game is a true yard marker. Emerge victorious and the NFL will be on notice. Ravens are here to dominate.
If the Ravens lose, oh well. Hard to go west into thin air and beat Manning.
Either way, Ravens can't be too scraped by a loss in Denver barring injury.

One of my favorite posts over there:
You just described me. For me, Baltimore are the new Raiders, and right now I would hate to lose to the Ravens even more than losing to the Raiders. I can't stand the sight of Joe Flacco and I'm still pissed at the refs for giving them that game. I will continue to stew until we annihilate them.

Shocked by all the breezy optimism in here.
I expect a hard game and with our WR/TE situation the way it is, I would not be surprised if we lose and squander the good that our defense does (and I do expect the D to be good.)My Ravens Blog: Brittany Rants About Football

Re: Week 1: Ravens v.s. Broncos
I'm having a hard time remembering anything the refs did to give that game to the Ravens.
This isn't going to be an easy game, even with Dumervil now on our side and Miller watching from home. Manning has another year post-surgery, and it's not going to be cold out. From what I've read, he's throwing the ball fine now. He is going to be able to challenge our secondary if the pass rush doesn't hurry up his clock.
Offensively, I think we're going to be fine. I don't know about 34 points fine, but I don't think the Broncos are going to be able to pitch a shutout, either. Smith is much, much more than just a vertical threat this year. I think the running game is going to be brutal to opposing defenses.
I will be in shock if the Broncos get a kick return for touchdown.
I'm a homer, and I think the Ravens will do enough to win. 27-19.
