Re: Game Thread -- Falcons @ Ravens (Bird v. Bird Exhibition Edition)
Seven Nation chant. Dang, Ravens with the win. Guess our back ups were better than theirs!
Still, much to work on but time to get it done. Ravens are going to be just fine. I need a cold one about now after all the drama.
Just glad to see Football.
Peace out Ravens fans.

Drinking with an Irish dude once (in the US) and ordered that - he laughed heartily. Apparently, Irish Mist is a cordial that only the old biddies in Ireland order to sip on.
Also, just no on the Jameson "known to be better" than Bushmills. Individual taste aside, that likely has more to do with the widely-accepted (though largely false) Irish-American belief that Jameson is Catholic whiskey and Bushmills is Protestant whiskey.

Re: Game Thread -- Falcons @ Ravens (Bird v. Bird Exhibition Edition)
Ok good night all, I might want to re-think staying up all night for these, but my addiction to Ravens football was too strong tonight. Good job on our depth to step up and grab the win, too bad the 1st string wasn't any good.
The wide receiver situation doesn't show any signs of improvement, It's like a race car driver driving an old beetle (and in tonight's case driving poorly) while Ryan is driving a Ferrari with Julio/Roddy/TonyG/Steven Jackson.

Re: Game Thread -- Falcons @ Ravens (Bird v. Bird Exhibition Edition)
Guys like Flacco and Rice and Suggs who are established, long term players here see these games as tune ups at best and injury opportunities at worst. They're trying out new stuff, while at the same time, trying to avoid injuries, and the coaches aren't game planning for the specific team or players we're facing.
The Pats went 0-4 in the preseason en route to a perfect regular season.
The only thing I look for in these games is the back ups when they get in and that no starter gets hurt. Nothing else matters. My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging. -Hank Aaron
