Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Daryl Smith has been the best player on the field so far in the preseason, by FAR. Not saying a whole ton, but the guy was just criminally underrated forever in Jacksonville and he's probably going to be a Pro Bowler here.

I know he was hurt, but how did no one else take a cheap flier on Smith?

Holy cow...Shipley has incredibly short arms.

    Offense looks lame.
