I also think that receivers and TEs are so popular because this team has been absolutely abysmal when it comes to drafting and developing receivers.

Thread doesn't say just players; I remember a time when no one thought the D would survive with/o Marvin Lewis, and hoping Rex would slip thru the HC hires so he would remain the Ravens D coord.

Re: The All-Time Ravens "we can't lose this guy" team

Kelly Talavou was the first I thought of, as B-more Ravor mentioned, we actually made room to keep him, first year on IR :) I was sure he was gone in 2009 but we cut Peerman, Davon Drew, Odlesby, KJGerard, Riley, Wheelwright, Jayson Foster, Harper, Figures, Jason Cook, Traded Martin, I Never thought Talavou would be ahead of all this list.

@elland Agree DL Ishmaa'ily Kitchen was one we felt wouldn't see the PS and was claimed by the Clowns from waivers.

Add Cedric Peerman who again the Clowns claimed off waivers, he currently has a 2 yr contract with the Bungles. (Very strange I have heard nothing about any trouble with the law about ;) )

Remember Albert McClellan made the PS in 2008

Elland also mentioned Bryan McCann who is a reverse example (we claimed him off Dallas waivers 2010 -what I am afraid will happen to Moe Lee if we expose him)

Tony Pashos did survive the PS in 2004

And some guys maybe should have (Ray Ethridge) been put on PS

And always skill positions will be hyped a lot more than solid lunchpails.
at one point of my life I was exactly Pi years old

Wholeheartedly agree. This team has been so starved of decent WRs that anytime some undrafted free agent from Utah State has a few good practices and a 30 yard catch in a preseason game, their output and talent appears to be light years ahead of last season's WR corp that lots of people get excited. ERNIE WHEELWRIGHT WILL BE A PRO BOWLER!!!
