    Ravens sign Dallas Clark

    Aaron Wilson ‏@RavensInsider 3m
There is mutual interest between veteran tight end Dallas Clark and the Ravens, according to league sources. No deal at this time

    Benjamin Allbright ‏@AllbrightNFL 2m
Expect Dallas Clark to Ravens to be done this week

If this is true after signing Stokely, the front office must have little confidence in our receiver corp after of course Torrey .

I think it's more along the lines of insurance. If the young guys don't pan out, they can fall back on the vets.

Another guy with experience with Caldwell from the Indy years.

    Could be a decent signing.

    Shaincoe had three drops.

    Sounds like insurance to me.

I wasn't aware that Shaincoe is considered a young guy. Pardon me.

Clark is more of a slot receiver than traditional tight end.

I'm not a Dallas Clark fan, but we are obviously trying to cover our asses here.

I'd have Clark lose weight and use him almost exclusively as a WR like they did in Indy.

    Hopefully, he's over his drops.

Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Huh? I never said he was young.

Might as well. See which older tight end is better. Shaincoe vs Clark
