He's leaving temporarily to undergo, 'Counseling'.

Leaving out the political / social commentary, any time a distraction of this magnitude comes up, the FO needs to worry about the team moving forward.
Yeah, his career might be over. I'm not sure any team wants the kind of distraction that divides a locker room. Many NFL teams are going for guys high high character recently. With everything else somewhat equal, team chemistry plays a role in team success.

I want to hear nothing about distraction from the Eagles after they took in Michael Vick.

Dude was drunk, stupid, and dropped the N bomb, apologized and now they are making it into a circus.

Well, there is a difference. Vick's teammates are not dogs; Cooper's teammates are African-American.

Sorry, insensitivity to race and inhumanity aren't even close.

In terms of severity? Yea, I agree.

In terms of which one is more likely to divide a locker room composed primarily of the very people he's most grievously offended? Not as clear cut.

As for a circus, he fucked up, was fined, and then was either shown the door, or choose to leave. This is hardly a circus.

On the other coast, WR Austin Collie signed with the 49ers.

How bad must A.J. Jenkins be right now for them sign Hawkins and Collie? Geez

    Re: Around the League

Notice how they bring in guys like Lavelle Hawkins and Laurent Robinson along with Collie, but no mention of Brandon Lloyd (even though he was easily the best "on the field" fit to replace Crabtree). SF was even the team that drafted him.

They had no business drafting AJ Jenkins in the first place.
