The legacy of Pollard lives on
Guess the player that last tackled Aaron Hernandez? Yup. Bernard Pollard.
Final NE drive in AFCCG:
3rd and 10 at BAL 33 (No Huddle, Shotgun) T.Brady pass short left to A.Hernandez to BLT 22 for 11 yards (B.Pollard) [C.Upshaw].
In what could be Hernandez's last NFL game, he was tackled by Pollard.
The NE hitlist goes:
Brady
Welker
Gronk
Ridley
Hernandez
You can't make this stuff up.

Re: The legacy of Pollard lives on
Kraft probably slipped the Flaming Thumbtacks a few samolians to encourage their acquisition of BP--since Tennessee isn't on their schedule this year...:D
I mean, GZ-PZ, now that Darth Hoodie can't videotape other teams & Mrs Kraft in heaven saw him diddlydeedlydoodling the young stuff & won't be pushing other teams' last minute FG attempts wide...what the hell else is an NFL owner spozeta do?

That is it, I an now convinced that Bernard Pollard is a dark angel sent from above to destroy the Evil Empire, presided over by the Emporer of the Dark Side himself, Lord Bellichick.

OT - it has to be very tough to be a Titan's fan (and a few other teams). They haven't won a playoff game in 10 years. Could we put up with that? I don't know and hope I never find out. Cleveland, Buffalo, Jax...
makes me appreciate the quality we have with the Ravens organization. It truly starts at the top and you MUST have a solid QB in this league to have a shot.

Re: The legacy of Pollard lives on
Pollard remains the player I'm still upset the most with in reference to losing him.
Talk about killers in NE, how about this.
I posted this vid of Pollard's hits last week appropriately entitled THE NE PATRIOT KILLER.
Pollard said he is fine with the title. Note first paragraph in link-lol.

But the guy couldn't cover and he mouthed off in the locker room.
Bellicheat sent HARBs a big thank U note.

Re: The legacy of Pollard lives on
I liked him but I do think he was something of a headhunter, and I mean helmet-to-helmet. I wouldn't be surprised if it affects him later in life. I hope not.
I was re-watching the AFCCG recently and I noticed after a few hits some of those NE receivers started getting the gator arms (including WW--may be why he's catching for Peyton now?)
ironically, the Pats dynasty started when they beat the Rams in the SB by allowing the short passes and pounding the snot out of the StLoo receivers till they started playing hesitant. (Belicheat also figured out that the zebras will tolerate a LOT of interference/contact in a playoff game).
they went from gritty overacheivers with an aggressive D beating a finesse team, to...a finesse team beaten by a bunch of gritty overacheivers.
"Brady, back to pass--deflected by McPhee--intercepted by Ellerbee!""Nothing stops these Baltimore Ravens. Beat them, injure them, shove them to the bottom of the standings, drag them into a hostile environment and mount a big lead, and they just keep trudging forward like nothing fazes them."
