I agree with this. Gronk alone is more impactful than that entire draft when healthy.

    BC:

Yes because Pitta has been more stable and won the SB with a big
catch while Gronk watched while injured again. See link above.

Oz had a chance for DEZ. His pal Bellicheat called him and said Jerry
is on the phone and wants to trade up for DEZ. Do you want to match
their offer and Oz said no thanks.

We won the SB with that draft so you can't fault the results. We won
    and beat DEZ with Torrey.

As for Kindle, no one could know that was going to happen, just bad luck but Oz still came out with Pitta and Dickson from Denver who
took Tebow who is no longer there. So both those clubs lost their
#1 picks but Oz still won the SB with Pitta, Dickson and Jones.

But he's not healthy and may miss more time this year and even if he does play wont
be 100%. Injuries are part of a player's game.

Oz went with the safe picks and won the SB with them.

Again Jon, you can have the pussy Gronk. Our guys won the big ones.

None of this changes the fact that Gronk is a better player than Dickson and Pitta combined. Football is the ultimate team sport.

When healthy yes but not last year when he couldn't even walk in the SB and Pitta and
Dickson greatly contributed to the Ravens SB win this year and Oz beat NE with that draft.
And as posted, it looks like he's gonna miss more time this year at the beginning of the
    season with more back surgery.

Well, if Reed stayed healthy, and Kindle stayed healthy, and . . . you get the idea.

You can only judge a draft by the impact the players have while they play. Since many of the Ravens are still playing for the team, it's a little early to say one guy is better than an entire draft. It may be true in retrospect, but if Jones, Dickson, Reed all become big contributors this year and the future, that proclamation is a bit premature.

Ed Reed has been in the league since 2002. Seriously doubt he has much left even healthy. And Kindle has done nothing on the field in the NFL to warrant a comparison to Gronk. That said, even with an uncertain future ahead of him I'd still take him over both of ours. He's a game changer.

    Re: Pitta/Dickson vs. Gronk/Hernandez

Dickson had two huge catches in the SB to keep a TD drive alive. Pitta scored a TD in the SB and Jones recovered a fumble on a drive that the 49ers were threatening to score. All of those plays were pivotal in our 2nd SB win and pretty much validate that entire 2010 draft, IMO.

Its pretty silly to say that if we had Gronk we would have won 2-3 SB's, there is no way to know that.

Going into this year, I feel a whole hell of a lot better with Pitta/Dickson that I would with the NE pair. Gronk could very well end up on IR, at the least on PUP and Hernandez could end up in prison or suspended. Pitta and Dickson are both healthy ascending players in their contract years. I'll take that any day. I'm expecting a big year from Dickson and Pitta should only get better and build on his "go-to guy for Joe" role, as well.

Um, he meant David Reed, who was drafted that year & is still with the Ravens.

Amazing how some folks get so stuck on pushing their own arguments they don't even pay attention to what others are posting.

    Re: Pitta/Dickson vs. Gronk/Hernandez

And don't forget Harewood in that draft. OK, before you start
laughing he didn't do so hot last year when he played but now
that we have Castillo whom all the linemen are raving about,
maybe he can develop him into a top lineman. Just saying ya
    know?

We definitely should have won two SBs w/o Gronk less anyone
forgets the Lee Evans drop up there a year ago with 25 secs
lef and the Goat's FG miss.

We win that SB too. We beat Houston twice that year and they
had a better defense than NYs.

And I'm not even gonna mention the other SBs we should have been
in w/o Gronk and won-lol. Nope, I positively am not gonna mention
them. NOt in any way - nada, nutten, zip.

He's not a game changer sitting out injured.

Oh, and David Reed was a part of the draft class. Since we were talking about that specific draft, I didn't think I had to indicate which Reed we were talking about. But you missed the point anyway. You said Gronk "when healthy". The problem is that you can't take that out of the equation. The NFL is full of what-if-he-didn't-get-injured stories. The guys I mentioned - Reed (David, not Ed) and Kindle may have been pretty good but they haven't been/weren't healthy. "When healthy" Gronkowski is a great TE, but if he can't come all the way back from his injuries and surgeries, he isn't going to be worth much. I would take Gronkowski "when healthy" too, but I wouldn't trade Pitta and Dickson for him today. There's just too much uncertainty right now.

    Re: Pitta/Dickson vs. Gronk/Hernandez

Just as there was the day he was drafted. A lot of teams
passed on him. Like I said, injuries are part of a player's game.

Mickey Mantle might have been the best baseball player ever
if not for all these injuries and he still hit 536 homers.

    FROM THE WASH POST.
