    So this is even better....

I've just come to expect it at this point.
Lot of hatred in the responses to that article RS. The counter-response below was my favorite however, and since it addresses the Presidential Office i figure it's appropriate to the WH thread :

I am sick and tired of Skins fans commenting on every Ravens article about owning MD. The last time they won a Super Bowl was 1991. The top ten things that have transpired since the Skins last won:

    10. The Skins moved from DC to Maryland and built that awful stadium.
    9. Three Presidents held office, two with 2 terms!!!
    8. The Ravens have won 2 Super Bowl Titles.
    7. The stock market has raced from 3,000 to 15,000.
    6. A new Millenium has begun.
    5. A Napoleon ancester has bought the Skins.
    4. The IPhone was invented.
    3. The Blue Ray was invented.
    2. The DVD player was invented.
    1. And the NUMBER 1 thing that has happened since the Skins won a Super Bowl,
    the invention of Viagra!!

"That capped off one of the greatest post seasons ever by a QB" Obama said, "over 1100 yards, 11 TD's, no ints. I don't know about you Joe, but I would say that qualifies as elite."

    So...is the debate over?

Yeah that was cool. Again - not the biggest supporter - but even if his speechwriters wrote all that stuff for him, he didn't have to go out and make that statement if he didn't agree with it, and saw that the stats supported it.

I'd prefer to keep this thread here since it's a celebration of the team and it's success.

So please leave out the political commentary. Much thanks!

Here's a few notes for those that missed it.

Also, there's some doubt that Reed will be back in B'more for the Week 3 game....he could possibly miss it.

Looking at the pictures on Twitter makes me so proud - and I wasn't even born on the same continent. Can't imagine how proud those of you in the States and born in Bmore are.

On to the next Lombardi! GO RAVENS!!!
"Flacco stepping up and throwing deep down the far sideline... CAUGHT!!! Into the endzone, TOUCHDOWN JACOBY JONES!!!!!"

Any word why Matt Birk and Michael Oher skipped the ceremony? While I know Birk doesn't see eye-to-eye with this President, he doesn't seem like the type that would blow this off to make a point - he's got too much respect for his former teammates. So I assume he had a prior commitment of some sort. I certainly wouldn't much care who was holding the office at the time - I'd go to experience this once-in-a-lifetime day.

And Oher is still a member of the team, so his excuse better be a good one. Otherwise, I can't imagine, 20 years from now, that he won't regret the decision not to be there.

Quite a contrast from the 2001 ceremony where half the team was in T-shirts and casually dressed. Everyone in a suit, "Mr. President" on the jersey. The Ravens handled this with class and respect this time around.

It was a cool ceremony and regardless of politics, I imagine it must be a huge thrill to meet the POTUS. The looks on the players' faces (especially Torrey Smith) when Obama came out reminded me of the looks on the faces of fans like us when we see a Ravens player in person.
