Same in Pissburgh a couple of years ago when Boldin dropped the ball on the goal line.
TJ dropped another one but in each case Joe was money in the clutch and did his
job. Those drops kept Joe from yet another SB.

Finally this year no one choked on him but in past years he didn't have the receivers
Eli had like Cruz and Nicks et al. He had Mason who kept disappearing in the POs
like in Piss and Indy and Evans and TJ choking on him but Joe was every bit as good
    as Eli while losing.

And of course, Boldin made up for PIss this year in NO.
Hell, even last year Jones and Pitta dropped back to back passes against the Broncos. And then in the Super Bowl Pitta dropped another pass that would've converted a 3rd down inside the 20 at the end of the game.

I'll say this about both QBs. Both of those mother fuckers will come into your house and snatch your heart out in the fourth quarter, in zero degree weather if they have to.

Yea, we should have had another TD plus that stupid fake FG and we gave them another 2 pts
on the safety in the SB.

But Joe was in the clutch every time and in
freezing weather in Denver where Manning wilted. The game really wasn't as close as the score even after blowing all those points in the 3rd qtr.

Joe still took them down the field in the 4th qtr and iced the game with those FGs, just like Namath in
    SB 3.

That's not true. You're only as good as your regular season statistics.

...so, what if your all-pro player goes down midway through the season?

This is just too much of an absolute statement.

Absolutes do not absolutely apply to the NFL...or any sport for that matter.

Otherwise the Ravens wouldn't have won the SB this year, in the regular season they had middle of the road rankings on both sides of the ball, none of that mattered in the play offs, and it didn't matter to the Giants the year before who had a similar story.

Or the Packers the year before that

You're only as good as a subjective evaluation of your prior history, current talent, and untapped potential as expressed by the system you play in with the talent around you says you are to each individual attempting to rate you.

But that's not nearly as catchy.
My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging. -Hank Aaron
