Re: AFC North - Top 5 UDFAs to watch
No way. With Boldin gone the Ravens are not going to dump another guy who knows the offense, the speed of the NFL and has some rapport with Joe for what would likely be a 6th or 7th round pick. Cant see getting much more than that for him. He has more value to the Ravens than that. The last thing you want is for say Pitta to go down and now you have Furstenburg as your #1 as a rookie. I like the kid but not that much. Dickson is going nowhere
I like Furstenberg also and think he can be successful but the smart move is for him to be #3 on the TE depth chart and develop behind Dickson and Pitta.“A linebacker's job is to knock out running backs, to knock out receivers, to chase the football,”

Re: AFC North - Top 5 UDFAs to watch
R1, I agree 100%, and would like to add...this team is a Super Bowl contender. A 2014 (probably low) draft pick can't replace Dickson's 3 years of experience with Flacco. It's worth it for the Ravens to keep him for 2013, let him walk in 2014, resign Pitta and have Furstenberg move up to #2 TE. Smooth transition... Bc

I think the UDFAs being brought in are going to make for a very competitive training camp.
More of a experiment, I find Murphy Holloway to be an interesting prospect. Could he be the next Antonio gates? Probably not, but it will be fun to see what he can do.

I don't think anyone who caught 21 passes for 225 yards is a sure bet for making the team. It's not like Dickson's production was instrumental towards the success of the offense, or something that can't be replaced. If Furstenberg can block better that's a big plus.

Fairly decent article by Hensley for once. I too think Furstenberg and Gaines have the best chance to contribute THIS YEAR. But think(read: hope) Holloway and Holley could both be pretty good next year. I was also pretty high on Cave and was hoping we'd sign him to compete with GG and Jensen.

“When I think of a Baltimore Raven - we go in there, we take your lunch box, we take your sandwich, we take your juice box, we take your applesauce, and we take your spork and we break it. And we leave you with an empty lunch. That’s the Baltimore Raven way.” - Steve Smith Sr.
Call me a Special Teams coach again. I dare you! I double dare you, MFer!

Re: AFC North - Top 5 UDFAs to watch
I agree. The point you made earlier about replacing Pitta or Dickson next next year makes sense. Of the 2, Dickson is the less effective player. I wasn't as clear as I could have been, but I think Furstenberg will push Dickson in training camp. Dickson's career has been unrealized potential with poor blocking, dropped passes and lacking in production. If Furstenberg shows the coaches sure hands and effective blocking, I could see him supplant Dickson during the season.
The 21 catches and 225 yards were Dickson's numbers last season, sorry to create confusion.
