Pitta has had his share of drops...Boldin, for all the talk about how irreplaceable he was also dropped the ball fairly often...I think some of this is due to the fact that Dickson doesn't get the ball thrown his way much, so people only remember the balls he drops.

I like the speed he brings to the position (reference him blowing by Polamalu Week 1 2011)...I would definitely like to see him get a shot under Caldwell's system.

After listening to Ricky Wagner's conference call after he was drafted, I think Castillo is the o-line coach of the team even if he doesn't carry the title.

Either that, or Ricky Wagner's future on the team is as some kind of run game specialist on the o-line.

It's very, very clear what the Ravens wanted to do at S and ILB to address this issue. Minter is a great go-forward linebacker, but not what the team needed.
    Yup.

Which is why I never was really a fan of Minter fitting here. I think he is a good ILB, and will be good, but he just didn't have the speed and athleticism that the staff felt we needed (and most of us on the board have been noting since the start of the season).

I also was shocked by Alonso going so early to the Bills....I thought he'd be an option at the end of the 3rd round. The Bills reached with their first 2 picks.

This is a much faster defense IMHO now...we just need to hope the chemistry comes together quickly.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Oh i didnt hear that, not a good sign for Moeller if he's mentioning Castillo first over his supposed position coach, i figured Castillo would be heavily involved with the o-line regardless but it sounds like Moeller might be basically the assistant o-line coach, even if it's technically not his title.

Wouldnt mind Castillo bring some of those stretch plays and screens from Philly though

I don't necessarily think Moeller is on the chopping block...Castillo is a more respected coach in the NFL due to his long tenure with the Eagles. His title does include "coordinator" in it. He may not be the OC, but you can bet he's basically Assistant OC here. In that manner of speaking, he'd be a senior staff member, whereas Moeller is a lower level staff.

Where is this stuff about Boldin having a lot drops coming from? The fact that he is no longer on the team? He had a semi down year in 2011, though still ended up in the top 10 I believe in catch rate, but had just 3 drops in 2010, and 2 in the regular season this past year, plus another in the post season.

Thanks for posting the DeCosta highlights, I wanted to listen but wasn't near a radio(did they interview Art Brown? I heard Juszczyk's interview, but not Brown's).

I think the fact that pretty much everyone has brought up Deonte Thompson without even being asked about him is a pretty good sign. I also think they could bring in another receiver, I'm hoping for Brandon Lloyd if we can get him cheap enough. He was also cut by NE which probably puts him on our radar, though I'm not sure when the date is that players no longer count towards comp picks, so that may not matter.

I'm not holding my breath on Dickson however. I was high on him coming out of college, and while I think Cam never used him even remotely close to how he should have, a lot of his problems had nothing to do with scheme. It would be nice if he had a Kruger type contract year and got some team to overpay for him so we can get a high comp pick for him however.

I also thought the Ravens never were interested in Te'o. When a player is the most talked about player at the Liar's Lunch, you can basically take him off the board. Just trying to get someone to draft him ahead of us so one of our targets dropped.

Where is Decosta from? I picked up an accent, or maybe it's a slight speech impediment, I couldn't tell.

    Boston...or a suburb or Boston.
