Re: Kiper praises Ravens draft
Wagner also had a change in QBs that might have hampered him too. He was invited
to the SR Bowl as one of the best in the country, nothing to snot at.
It would be funny if Mellette and Streeter became our best WRs in a couple of years.
Streeter is so big and fast, if he develops, watch out. This could be two steals at the
bottom of draft two years in a row. It would make up for taking DEMs WILLs while
leaving Brandon Marshall on the board and taking Patrick Johnson while leaving
Hiney Ward on the board even with a torn ACL after falling off a bike-lol.
Cinci targeted Brown too. They f*cked up taking the TE instead of drafting either
Cyprien or Elam when they were on the board. They don't value safeties that much.
They already had Gresholm.
Some are calling Brown the dpoy already.

Re: Kiper praises Ravens draft
The thing that I like most about Kyle is his versatility. He was one of their most productive receivers and has deceptively good hands. Having Rice, Bernard, and Kyle in the backfield will be a terror for offenses. Think the full house formation that Green Bay used to run.

Re: Kiper praises Ravens draft
The first 4 picks (Elam, A. Brown, B. Wms, J. Simon), after signing Canty, Spears, Doom, and Huff (notice I didn't mention R. McClain), are going to vault the Ravens defense into the top 10 where they belong. I know there wasn't a lot of help for Flacco, but these guys will give him the ball sooner, and more often... Bc

Re: Kiper praises Ravens draft
I think they hit a HR with their first 5 picks (2 in the 4th) after the 4th round it's a total crapshoot. Like to see what they have in Jensen from Pueblo. I like Furstenburg as UDFA. Dont get the Kebron pick, my guess is they saw alot of Te'o tape and said "who is that guy?" he's doing pretty good. But, probably could of got him as UDFA or late 7th comp pick because he will be out all year.

Re: Kiper praises Ravens draft
After seeing some mock drafts, Brown could have been a late 1st rounder...going to the Ravens perhaps (?) Ozzie loves to select free-falling players. That's why he got Elam and then Brown. Hmmm, it seems a team like the Browns, who always pick much higher than the Ravens, could learn how it's done... Bc

Re: Kiper praises Ravens draft
Matt Elam is going to be a Pro Bowler within two years. He reminds us so much of Bob Sanders and Troy Polamalu.
Arthur Brown is going to do very well behind this defensive line. I am not predicting a Pro Bowl appearance in this case, but he will certainly play out his rookie contract successfully.
Brandon Williams just fell into a great situation. Not only is he talented. Not only is his ceiling high, but he'll get the chance to reach it alongside the best Defensive Tackle in football.
Vontae Leach only has one year left in his contract. The young man from Harvard might not lay people out the way that Leach does at the next level, but he will display a versatility that Jim Caldwell can utilize.
Even Mallette is in a good position.
1.) He can play inside and out
2.) Jacoby Jones has struggled in the past, when asked to be the #2 WR
3.) Tandon Doss has struggled to stay healthy
4.) There's a chance that Tommie Streeter may need an extra year to develop.
His only real competition might end up being Deonte Thompson.
He'll get to catch passes from Joe Flacco
He'll get to play opposite Torrey Smith."Please take with you this final sword, The Excellector. I am praying that your journey will be guided by the light", Leon Shore

Re: Kiper praises Ravens draft
The young man from Harvard did a pretty good imitation of Leach at the Sr Bowl pancaking a couple of guys on blocks.
Scott Garceau said he gives Ravens insurance if they do cut Leach and it could possibly be this year.
KJ is so athletic is was the point guard on his high school basketball team and is already the best blocking TE Ravens have. He scored 22 TDs at Harvard.
Kiper said he's the best FB in the draft. I really don't know how he or
Simon, the def player of year in Big 10 dropped so far.
Leave it to Oz to pick them up on the cheap.

Re: Kiper praises Ravens draft
IMO it is because many teams are hung-up on "name" players. You know, the guys we see in 1,000 mock drafts. The Ravens are interested in productive college players, no matter where they come from or how the "experts" rank them. Joe Hortiz and staff do a great job... Bc
