Huge steal, especially with some of the dudes drafted ahead of him. Could end up being DROTY, as 9 timea out of 10 it's the best rookie inside backer.

No, traded it to move up to get Brown.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Then we still have two 6th rounders (our original 6th and the compensatory pick).

They are supposed to embody what it means to be a Raven (intelligent, good character, tough, durable). Each person in the scouting department has one, so there are something like 20 on the board. In 2010, the KC Chiefs drafted a Ravens Red Star Player with each of their first 4 selections:

    Berry
    Arenas
    McCluster
    Asamoah

If I recall, the Ravens didn't get any of their own red stars that year.

Yanda was a red star in 2007.

Outstanding use of the picks to trade up for Brown. A good trade up to me:

    1. Need is addressed
    2. Efficiency of the selection (both not reaching and someone else would take the player before you select again)
    3. Good chart value

    Brown is a trifecta.

I agree, but I'm liking all 3 picks so far. I think I suffer from rhodopsin.

I think Grubbs, Yanda, Ray Rice, Paul Kruger and Yamon Figurs are some of the red star guys they have announced drafting. Aside from Figurs, all gave us several productive years. And this year we already drafted 2.

I was very nervous when Bears were making their selection because I was certain they were going to take a MLB and it was highly possible that Arthur Brown couldve been the selection......BUT they chose Jon Bostic?!? hahaha

Love the Brown pick, was the guy I wanted in the first... But I am concerned about why Bostic and Alonso went ahead of him, given that he is so small and apparently some scouts were concerned about his ability to keep the weight on.
