Other's 1st rounders played for Ravens
Thinking about 1st rounders who have played for the Ravens
17 years, Ravens have drafted 17 players in the first round
No first rounders in 2004, 2010, 2012 But 2 first rounders in 1996, 2000, and 2003, so 17 of our own picking.
But it seems to me that we have had a lot of other's first round selections play as Ravens eventually.
Trevor Pryce, McKinnie, now Rolando and Huff
Sam Adams was #8 overall in 1994 by Seattle
McNair #3 in 1995 by Oilers
Jim Harbaugh #26 in 1987 by Bears
Deion Luwynn Sanders was #5 in 1989 by Atlanta
Fabian Washington #23 2005 Oakland
(Tommy Polley was a second rounder)
I can't think of others but I'm sure there are probably some more.....at one point of my life I was exactly Pi years old

Re: Other's 1st rounders played for Ravens
Tom Knight - Cardinals 1st rounder (#9) in 1997. Played 2 ho-hum years for the Ravens.
What a bust for the Cardinals.

I'd forgotten that Willis was a first-rounder. He shredded his knee (ACL, MCL, PCL) in the NCAA Championship game, and was expected to be a 3rd-rounder at best. But the Bills gambled and won, even after he had to sit out the 2003 season to rehab. He's had a pretty amazing career.

Yeah, and Dilfer did make a Pro Bowl in Tampa. Tampa had completely sucked prior to his arrival, and he did for them what he did for us: use a running game and a monster defense to actually win some football games.
He was never great -- or even good -- but he was serviceable, and might have been better if he had had more offensive weapons prior to getting the injury bug. Kiper was right; they should have drafted him, certainly over Alberts."Chin up, chest out."

Re: Other's 1st rounders played for Ravens
Dale Carter, 1-20 in 1992, played 2004-2005.
I believe he was the one who ended up having a blood clot in his lungs discovered on a random coincidence, so he sat out most of 2004, tried to come back for 2005..

Re: Other's 1st rounders played for Ravens
Wow! thanks.
Count looks to be up to 19 1st rounders from other teams in 17 years.
Too big of a reference work for me to presently tackle, but that not only seems like an awful lot, I'm doubting in any other team has even come close in any 17 year span...
I'm thinking maybe Oakland with all their "bad-boy" castoffs they collected may have more over the long haul, and they have been operating since 1960....(Jim Plunkett #1 1971 by Pats)
Maybe Washington with Allen's over the hill gang, combined with Snyder's "buy the big name at any price"
But Ozzie has quietly in 17 years amassed 36 1st round picks in purple (and maybe another one or two floating out there that we anven't remembered yet).
That averages over 2 a year on the team! And he completely traded away 2 (and swapped years on a 3rd one).at one point of my life I was exactly Pi years old
