    Ravens 4.5pt dogs at Denver

Looks like we will just have to show everyone again what we are alll about,we stilll get no respect even being 4-0.This is our chance to prove to every football fan(and they will all be watching) that we are the real deal.

Denver home game, primetime game, altitude etc. Bookmakers are expecting folks to back Denver with those factors for homefield as well as Denver coming off a bye and beating the ever fancied Pats, they're covering for that.

I prefer the underdog role, I think it makes the team hungrier & meaner. That lack of respect angle plays big.

We are 4-0 but outside of the Bucs game we haven't exactly set the league on fire so it doesn't surprise me that we are not favored. Our overall away game record lately isn't that stellar, it's obvious we are struggling offensively, and I suppose the oddsmakers are figuring our string will end sometime soon. It does make for some locker room attitude I suppose.

wonder when our next "gimme" game is...

We've got Denver, then Carolina, then NO...granted, by the time we hit NO, that might be a bit easier, but it looks as if our easiest games this year were Weeks 2 and 3, then Tennessee, and maybe Buffalo at year's end?

We better get some points for Strength of Schedule!

Not many teams go into Denver and are favored. The line will most likely go down as the week progresses as more and more money is getting put on the Ravens.

Also, remember that the line has absolutely nothing to do with "respect" of a team. It is all about gambling and nothing else.

I love being the underdogs as well, Its always win win, if you win its great, if you lose its ok, since you didnt expect a win on the road against a tough team. Although IMO Denver isnt as good as they were last year, and we are better, and we could have one last year except for the phantom fumble...

I can see Denver being favored, there's a ton of things going in their favor and they're a pretty good team. But how can they be favored by more than three points? I think I'd take the Ravens to at least keep it within 3, if not win outright... Plummer had better play a really good game or our defense will take him apart.

Who cares if we are underdogs, I would prefer us being underdogs the entire season.

Remember 2000, we were underdogs the majority of the season.

Again, Vegas doesn't predict scores they do research all day Sun and decide Sun night which team is going to draw the most money if the bet is even. Then they ask how much the lesser team has to be given point wise for people to bet on both teams equally. Look for the betting public to change this line to 3 or 2.5 by Sat. And don't forget the proximity of SD and Den to Vegas compared to us. Alot more of their fans are there to bet their mortgages on those teams.

I'm not at all surprised that Denver is favored -- like Kevin said, they are almost always favored at home -- but 4.5 seems a little high to me. And as far as the line going down as the week goes on, I said the same thing last week about the San Diego spread, and it didn't really change much all week.

Denver coming off a bye week may be playing into this a little bit. And yes, I know the Chargers were coming off a bye week and we beat them, but that was a home game, which always figures into the Vegas spread.
