I usually just run smaller races, but I loved my half marathon in D.C. and was planning to tackle both the Baltimore and Frederick ones next year. I'm still thinking I'd run it, but I'm not so sure I want my wife and kids to be there, knowing this kind of danger could well happen.

Then again, someone determined enough might be able to sneak this into a Ravens or Orioles game, and I wouldn't stop going to those.
I doubt Baltimore or Frederick would be targeted.

Boston is one of the biggest cities in the country.

New York, San Francisco, LA, Washington DC, Atlanta...those would be more likely IMO.

    From that:
Investigators have a suspect — a Saudi Arabian national — in the horrific Boston Marathon bombings, The Post has learned.

Law enforcement sources said the 20-year-old suspect was under guard at an undisclosed Boston hospital.

It was not immediately clear why the man was hospitalized and whether he was injured in the attack or in his apprehension.

The man was caught less than two hours after the 2:50 p.m. bombing on the finish line of the race, in the heart of Boston.

    Occam's Razor.

There will be plenty of time in the upcoming months to break out the tin foil hats. How about we gather more facts first?

Folks this is real simple: If you see something strange, even if it is nothing, say something.

    Very sad.
Raw video shows the first bomb exploding at the 4:09 mark of the race. Huge explosions, but apparently relatively small size bombs placed in trash cans.

The Boston Marathon is also a point-to-point race, unlike a lot of marathons that start and end near the same location. It would be nearly impossible to have full security for 26.2 miles.

    Come on man.

I just find it interesting that they have this guy on video with multiple backpacks at the location of the bomb and no one thought that was odd? I'm not saying that they could have done anything about it, but it may have raised suspicious from the race security, you know?

Am I not allowed to find that interesting?

I don't think this was purposeful in any way, shape, or form...though I'm sure some people out there will try to spin it that way. By purposeful I mean hardcore-tin-hat-wearing people knew about it and still let it happen.

    My apologies, Wicked.

Obviously, this event has me on edge and my first read of your post sounded like you were making a connection and jumping the gun with the facts.
