TE prospect out of left field (or half court) on Ravens' radar.
Demetrius Hall...a basketball player from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has declared his intention to enter the NFL Draft as a TE.
Attachment 1612
"The six-foot, seven-inch Harris initially signed to play football at Arkansas State, but he failed to qualify academically. He played basketball at a community college for two years, and then he turned down another offer from Arkansas State to return to football.
In a workout for the Chiefs earlier this month, Harris ran the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds, jumped 36.5 inches vertically and 10 feet, two inches horizontally.
Harris has visited the Chiefs, and he’s due to visit the Ravens and Cowboys on Sunday and Monday, respectively."
HERE
With all the extra comp picks that we have, and the fact that it seems like the Chiefs REALLY like him, If Ozzie decides he likes the kid, I wouldn't be opposed at all to using that 7th round pick (natural or Comp) on the kid...his athleticism is obviously through the roof...the 7th round is where you take flyers. Why not draft him, and save yourself the fight in the undrafted FA market?

Those are very impressive computer numbers.
I'd take a shot on him as a UDFA or maybe that last 7th comp pick like you said.Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Quite a 40 time even if he's not really 6'7".
Wonder if he can catch, or block?
The whole "failed to qualify academically at Arkansas State" thing is a little worrisome, when combined with no playing of football for many years. The X's and O's at the NFL level are going to be about 5 quantum leaps from what he did back in high school. And his agent's comment isn't all that helpful -- saying "If you want somebody to shoot free throws, he's not your man, but he can catch a football."
So I'm supposed to believe he sucked at the sport he DID play but is awesome at the one he didn't? Mmm hmm......

if the chiefs are that high on him hes not going UDFA. frankly they know they wont be first choice if the cowboys and ravens are also interested. theyll use a late rounder before we do.

Re: TE prospect out of left field (or half court) on Ravens' radar.
Kind of reminds me of the guy the Dolphins picked up last year. He didn't have much football experience, but he put up great workout numbers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Bro...an_football%29
He ended up getting cut because he was horrible at blocking and just not that good.
