Re: Daryl Smith?
It comes down to health. Daryl Smith has been a good 4-3 ILB. Both the Rams and Giants had him in and passed which makes me think there is a health issue.

Re: Daryl Smith?
Smith is a UFA, so Ravens wouldn't have been interested until after June 1.
Now that June 1 has passed, signing him won't factor into Comp pick calculation.

Re: Daryl Smith?
Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider 1m
Former Jaguars starting LB Darryl Smith is on the Ravens' radar for potential addition, per sources. No deal yet, but mutual interest there.

Re: Daryl Smith?
I wonder if this tips their hand regarding mcclains injury, or if this is just a typical Ozzie bargain move for depth.

Great addition if true. I wonder if this means the coaches arent 100% about Jameel McClain's neck?

Re: Daryl Smith?
If Rolando McClain hadn't gone back to Alabama, this wouldn't be an issue. However, the knucklehead went anyway and now this is an issue.
Truth be told, this doesn't even mean that he'd start over Arthur Brown. This would ensure depth, more than anything else. If Brown isn't ready, he can sit behind a veteran, getting his reps here and there. If Brown is ready, he'll have a fresh veteran behind him down the stretch."Please take with you this final sword, The Excellector.
