    Crabtree is a borderline bust.

He had 85 catches, 1100 yards, and 9 TDs last year. You can't justify your point at all.

Agreed...his first two years, for being a top 10 pick, were kind've pedestrian, but with Jim Harbaugh on board, Crabtree's light has come on.

This. And I don't perceive this as whining all that much, yeah, we could do without some of the melodrama, but ultimately this is very mild. Frank Gore on the other hand...

Crabtree struck me as fast as hell but also a little soft in the Super Bowl.

I was more referring to his being targeted on the three consecutive plays at the end and being pretty much manhandled/blown up on all of them.

That said, I wouldn't run Crabtree out of town if he were a Ravens WR. My impression of him is probably colored by the nonstop whining his team did after the loss.

Re: Crabtree whining 2 months after the game

I wonder if this will put to rest the "non-call" complaints that the 49ers have on that last stand. So Kaep had like 2 seconds to throw and chucked it up blindy, the targetted WR couldn't see a damn thing, but yet the only reason that they couldn't complete the pass was because he was being held?

Shouldn't it have been his responsibility to tell the coach that he couldn't see and needed to come out of the game. Not his chance to have a roledex of excuses months later?

Asked to again recount what happened to him, Crabtree said: "They hit me, I really couldn't see. ... Then [my vision] just came back. It's not concussion-like. Crabtree told the network that his sight returned before the next snap and that he had no complaints about the non-call on fourth down.

That doesn't sound like a lot of whining (just a little). It sounds more like a recount of what happened, and he said he had no complaints about the 4th down non-call (unlike his whiny coach). Nothing really to see here.
Thanks for posting. I wouldn't really call it whining either - I hope someone forwards the quote to his coach so he can hear first hand that the player hand no complaints about the non call...

TrueDat. That was the magic moment to whine if he was going to whine. Props to him in my book for taking the play as the refs called it [all night in that game]. I was at the Superdome and thought for sure a flag or review upstairs was coming.
