OT: Kevin Ware breaks his leg
I know that this should be moved to college sports section...
But-
I just watched the Kevin Ware (Louisville) break during today's game... Horrible...
The reaction from the players was priceless. They all cried for him...
Just had to comment on this event.

Re: OT: Kevin Ware breaks his leg
I feel terrible for the kid. They said on the radio that he had surgery yesterday, and he had a metal rod inserted to stabilize his leg. He should be out of the hospital tomorrow.
It was good to see Louisville rally around him and put the beat down on Duke.

Re: OT: Kevin Ware breaks his leg
I didn't see it and I don't want to. I have seen too many broken legs and ankles up close and live. I watched a friend sustain a compound fracture of tib/fib in two spots (spiral style). He got a titanium rod. Good times.
I wonder what his basketball future is if gets a rod in the bone? I don't pay too much attention to Basketball... What was his future before the injury?

Re: OT: Kevin Ware breaks his leg
I heard about it and will not watch it live. I'm still reeling from the vivid memories of Theisman's gruesome injury on Monday night football back in 85. Add to that Lattimore's (from SC) injury last year during a game.

Also, I remember when Musa Smith had that bad injury. It was one of the reasons they made horse collar tackling illegal.

Joe Theismann sent out a tweet in regards to Ware...
My niece plays high school basketball and track and plays on an AAU team...
And those kids work hard. They sacrifice typical teenage stuff for practice 4 days a week, working out, games, perfecting a shot, being seen and ranked.
You could feel all of it just end with Ware from just watching the expressions from the players from both teams on the court.
All of those years of practice...
It's a lesson for all college athletes to be balanced in their personal affairs and other career choices.

It was ugly. You can see one of his teammates pass out on the bench.

Re: OT: Kevin Ware breaks his leg
It was a horrifying thing to watch.
At this point you just hope they can get this kid to a point were he can resume a normal life and ambulation. Anything beyond that is a bonus at this point.
Not a Louisville fan but I hope they win the National Championship (them or Wichita St) for this kid
I gotta say I have never been a Pittino fan but the guy obviously cares deeply his players and did a hell of job getting them to focus on winning for their teammate“A linebacker's job is to knock out running backs, to knock out receivers, to chase the football,”

Re: OT: Kevin Ware breaks his leg
It was brutal and there were guys on the bench 'losing their lunch' over the exposed bone. Of course someone had put it on youtube within 3 minutes..
Feel bad for the kid, what a freak accident. Hope he makes a recoveryLast edited by Ravenswintitle; 04-01-2013 at 11:56 AM.
