Seriously some team will lose their starting tackle in Sept and bring Gaither in on a minimum deal. And hold their breath.

Re: New LT on the market - Gaither's available!
Nope, the evidence he lied is the fact that everytime he claimed he was injured no one could find any evidence of injury. He is Lazy, and since you can't get out of practice while getting paid by saying, "hey Coach, I am feeling Lazy today, I think I'll stand over here," you have to resort to "hey Coach, I am suffering from some strange full body spasm that a team of specialists will never, ever detect."
Less assumptions is better. No need to assume Gaither suffered multiple different, separate, obscure, and undetectable injuries just because he says so, when "He is lazy and did whatever he could to get out of practice" suffices.

Re: New LT on the market - Gaither's available!
I am not a Gaither fan. That said, if the Ravens don't resign McKinnie, and can't get anyone in the draft or FA that can play LT, then I would not be opposed to throwing a vet minimum deal at Gaither for one year. He might be able to get motivated enough to sucker another team into giving him a big multi-year contract if he plays well in 2013. I really don't want to see Oher or KO at LT this year, unless it is an emergency.

If Ozzie Newsome even thought about bringing Jared Gaither back, I think he and John Harbaugh might have a shoot out in his office.

Re: New LT on the market - Gaither's available!
Looks like his own team mates weren't exactly thrilled with his work ethic either:
"I can't even look him in the eye," one veteran Charger told U-T San Diego's Kevin Acee in December. Another one said: "(Expletive) Gaither. He (expletive) cost us big-time."

Re: New LT on the market - Gaither's available!
I would like to see them bring back McKinnie. The play of the OL after he was moved back to LT was the single biggest factor in Flacco's performance in the playoffs and the idea of turning over blindside responsibilities to an unproven rookie or a proven failure (Oher) at the position would be foolish.Lots of incentives and a weight clause mandatory.

Re: New LT on the market - Gaither's available!
Nope. Everywhere he went is looking for a tackle now. He is a great tackle when he wants to try, which is not often.
Also, I don't get why some people are so hard on Oher. Yes he's not the LT we were looking for, but while big Mac and Gaither were sitting on their lazy bums he was at every practice and every game. The coaches always end up determining him to be our best option at LT while better players at that position warm the bench.Last edited by Unibomber; 03-27-2013 at 05:00 PM.

Gaither and Jamarcus Russell will soon become player agent, lending their expertise to fleecing teams out of big money. I can see it happening. Those two are a prime example of overpaying.

Re: New LT on the market - Gaither's available!
accept that they did find injuries, even if minor. The team did diagnose a thoradic disc injury before they ever said anything about not being able to see it (anymore). So even the injury you say didnt exist to begin with, they did find something. So hes not lying about said injuries, just not going about things the right way to prevent them or return from them. Youd have more of an argument saying he milked them than that they never existed to begin with.
why assume hes lying when the first thing he said "im injured" was both possible (and atleast on some level proven true later) and easily explained by not taking care of himself. instead of saying its not true and something else entirely because hes lazy he therefore will lie? Lazy people lie is not something thats universally accepted. Lazy people dont take care or themselves, certainly is closer to that distinction.
i feel like this is at least the 4th time weve had this exact debate. Neither are budging, but we certainly could take this out to 30 pages if we wanted. Although im sure HRs detest of everything Gaither will close it long before that. :D-JAB
