I would tell them both that there is a huge bonus at the end of the year and make them outplay each other for the spot in training camp. Once we win the Superbowl again for a 3rd time, I would give them their bonus.... A HUGE THUMBS UP and a pat on the back.

I'm sure Harbs will probably have him in the headlock by camps end if they even consider this option.

Bottom line is Gaither is a lazy fat slob. I give him props for fleecing SD out of millions though.

They'd each just nap and eat a bag of chips the whole time.

Only difference is McKinnie would ask Gaither to float him a bag of chips till he gets paid again.

Is the doghouse big enough to fit both Gaither and McKinnie?

Then when he hands the bag over, half the chips would be gone, but Gaither, who has crumbs on his cheeks, would swear that the bag was half empty to begin with.

Re: New LT on the market - Gaither's available!

    Chargers released LT Jared Gaither.
Signed to a four-year, $24.6M contract a year ago, Gaither essentially quit on the Chargers. "Big Lazy" appeared in just four games, milking back and groin injuries that the medical staff never deemed serious before landing on injured reserve. The Chargers are so down on Gaither that they are willing to take a $6M cap hit this season. The 6'9/340 behemoth immediately becomes the the best talent available on the left tackle market, but that's only if he wants to play. The Chargers currently have Winston Justice penciled in on Philip Rivers' blind side, making Oklahoma LT Lane Johnson a possibility at No. 11 overall in April's draft.
