They are in no way comparable players...in style or production.

They are cheap and a dime a dozen, now with the rebuilt DL and Ngata a NT and Canty and and an improved pass rush, it's not that valuable. Tons of ILB talent around for cheap. Ellerbe was the most overpaid LBer in NFL history off half a good season, before 3 bad ones, oft injured and sometimes out of shape.

Obviously they aren't the exact same. They're pass rushing styles are the same as well as their weakness in stopping the run.

Dumervil will be in rotation with players who can defend the run so they can limit his role in run and pass defense.
