Tuck Rule Eliminated
Patriots fans everywhere weep

We led with the Raiders because the Tuck Rule will always be linked to their AFC Divisional Round game against the Patriots in 2002. It was a little-discussed rule until Tom Brady was ruled to have thrown an incomplete pass after dropping the ball when he was hit by Charles Woodson of the Raiders. The Patriots drove for a game-tying field goal, won the game in overtime and went on to win the Super Bowl.

Tuck Rule passed 29-1, with New England and Washington abstaining.

I'm speachless. This is like taking away an outfielder's glove or making a forward in the NHL unable to slap the puck over a certain speed.
I never thought I would see a rule pass that would really make me sour on the game, but congratulations GODell - you just made that happen.
I will be very interested to see how frequently this gets called and whether or not it becomes a problem.

Good old Steelers, voting against the Tuck Rule change...

“When I think of a Baltimore Raven - we go in there, we take your lunch box, we take your sandwich, we take your juice box, we take your applesauce, and we take your spork and we break it. And we leave you with an empty lunch. That’s the Baltimore Raven way.” - Steve Smith Sr.

Just saying, but wasn't aware that running backs trucking defensive backs with their helmet was an NFL crisis. Been going on for decades

Re: Tuck Rule Eliminated
I am shocked that from what i am reading this rule wouldn't be applied for the "Defenseless" receiver lowering his head so the Defender would get flagged. We saw those plenty of times last year when someone would lower their head and pollard/reed/Lewis would already be aiming at the numbers on the chest and then get called because the receiver lowers their helmet to meet the defender.

I I still don't understand how this will be enforced. If this was in place last year, would that have nullified Ray Rice's 4th and 24 lunging for the extra yard?
