Not really, since he played this year for $2 million when he could have been working on the first year of that $15 million contract.

Cary's so called gamble paid off it seems. Good for him

This year's draft is very deep with defensive talent. And we have 12 picks.

Ozzie knows exactly what he is doing. Enjoy being champions for a year while we reload.

Seriously, why are you acting surprised with any of this? Everyone knew Kruger and Williams were gone, and Reed and Ellerbe had a good shot at getting overpaid (which is exactly what happened). The only one that you really didn't see coming was Pollard.

And Boldin... and honestly I thought we'd have at least one of Ellerbe and Reed...

I don't know why you would have.

It was pretty clear both were gone after this year.

    Maybe you hoped?

Ellerbe was their #1 priority after Flacco... Remember that? It was 3 days ago.

It would have been stupid to match Miami's offer. Seriously, you can't see that?

So speculated the media. Ellerbe got a huge offer from Miami that was way more than he was worth. Apparently Ravens weren't even in the same ballpark with their offer. No way we are going to get into a bidding war and commit that much to a guy with a history of injuries and lazy play.

agreed... simply stating that I THOUGHT we would have one of him and Reed.

I would NOT have paid Ellerbe $7m per year average either, agreed it's overpaying... but I didn't see that coming.

Thank you, I was worried about you. Lot's of LBers out there, I'm hoping we get one that makes us forget about him vanishing in Miami.
