You gotta love it. You also have to add in Webb who is a great blitzer and Elam who can really move. Shades of 2007 where the pressure could come from everywhere.

Ozzie did a really good job of building depth on this team. They are going to be able to field a good defense in many, if not all of their packages. Some defenses have packages that they put on the field, but are weak in. If they go Nickel, they'll now have coverage LBs and an improved four man rush. They'll also have about three to four guys that could play the inside CB.

THIS JUST IN: Seahawks WR Percy Harvin has torn labrum, could require surgery. Harvin will seek a second opinion. (via @AdamSchefter)

How does that compare to Joe's deal?

Also, Ryan gets $59 million guaranteed, and $63 million over the first three years. (Flacco, whose contract likely was the benchmark for Ryan, got $52 million guaranteed and $62 million over the first three years.)

Took them long enough to figure that out. No wonder he's had an attitude. Someone pulled the ol' okey doke on him.

So he basically got slightly more than Joe with less than half of the accomplishments and Falcons will be facing the same heavy cap hits in the future?

    Better win now Matty

Ryan got more guaranteed and a higher yearly average.

I think Joe got $52 million in guarantees and Ryan got $59 million.

Joes average is $20.1 million per and Ryan's average is 20.75

Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Which means we still signed a Super Bowl MVP for less than a QB who only won one playoff game. That's pretty funny!

Well, that ends any argument about who the better quarterback is.

    Seriously.

Problem is, what were the Falcons going to do? Ryan has had them dead to rights since his rookie year and he knows it. Though I don't think Ryan is a big game QB, he does indeed give the Falcons their best shot at winning. He is pretty damn good, durable, and entering his prime.
