Those guys can ask for 10-12 mill per year until they're blue in the face. If the best they can get is 7-9 mill, then guess what they'll be taking?

Asking and getting are two totally different things.

I think Jennings gets $10M from someone with a lot of cap room. Even at $9M it is more than we can afford, imo.

Minnesota only offered a seventh round pick
Boldin is 33
Boldin is really best utilized in the slot, making him a slot WR.
It was becoming clear that the team would release Boldin.

That's not going to net you even as much as Evans did. Evans was an outside vertical threat
