Re: Ravens Free Agent Possible Add / Drops

While I'd like to see Kruger back, I don't think it's probable. It's more likely some other team (Bills, Browns, ?) will over-pay, and Ozzie don't do that... Bc

None made anything remotely close to $4-5 million on any single season.

In fact, every other good FB we've had, the team let them go as soon as the first cheap contract was up.

Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Kruger is gone. About a 0% chance he's wearing a ravens uniform next season.

I would love to have Leach back, but he would need to be willing to take a 50% pay cut. Any idea as to what kind of contract a team might offer Leach if he were cut?

I'm only guessing (no real insight here) that there isn't much of a demand for a 31 yo FB. I think Leach's best option would be to stay a Raven on a one-year contract at (perhaps slightly above) vet minimum... Bc

I don't see the point, should it happen, in giving up a 2nd rounder for a good player like Pitta just to save a few mill to take a rookie who might not even be ready by day 1, and may not even be as good as Pitta is anyway. Letting Pitta go just creates another hole on the roster, I wouldn't trust a rookie and Ed Dickson as our TEs going into next season put it that way.

I'd like to guarantee (99% ?) that Pitta will be a Raven in 2013. Dickson IMO has not lived up to his 3rd round expectations. I hope both will be back, but if I had to choose one...PITTA ... Bc
