Really anticipating the new Major Lazer next week. Loved/Love the track with the girl from Dirty Projectors - Get Free.

Now if we can just get a release date for M.I.A.'s Matangi...

The new Frightened Rabbit is unsurprisingly solid.

And I still can't get enough of Menomena's Moms album from last year.

In the not so near future... new British Sea Power coming in April! If you don't know BSP, check out their third full length album Do You Like Rock Music? One of my favorites.

    Anyone here into prog rock?

I have been playing guitar and drums since I was about 13 or so. I really really dig technical metal (also called math metal) and prog rock.

Check out Animals as Leaders. Their guitarist (Tosin Abasi) is from Northern VA. Incredible music.

It can be difficult. I mean, stuff like Les Claypool or Victor Wooten is not easy. However, you could probably pick it up fairly easily.

I would recommend getting a 5 string because it is a lot more versatile and as you get better you will appreciate the versatility more.

Same music I've listened to and enjoyed since I was a teenager, from late 50's Doo Wop to mid 70's R&R. Some old Country, Johnny Cash. When I need to focus, the Band Of Brothers soundtrack or Braveheart or something similar. To relax, Pachelbel Canon, Beethoven.

Do you like the scissor sisters? A lot of people think the guy singer for them is one of the more talented singers comparable to Freddy Mercury.

It's all about the classic for me.

Zeppelin, Queen, Stones Mellencamp, CCR, Marley

That and I love the 80's (Eddie Mahoney, Flock of Seagulls, Poison all the good shit) and 90's ( STP, Rage, Pearl Jam, Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters etc.)

Most new stuff out today all sounds the same to e. Catchy beat, a few words and a chorus over and over and over and over again.
