    To me, that'd be like giving a Christmas bonus to a sales guy you fired for not hitting his goals.

    Agreed.

    And while there is certainly merit to the "holding the offense back" theory, I do feel that for at least Joe's first 2 years, Cam did a hell of a job protecting Joe and helping his development his first couple years.
    Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

    No. But he's not getting cash. The ring is a symbol of those who were on the team for the entire run.

    He's basically getting a trophy that symbolizes he was part of the team. We are a class organization and I'd expect nothing less from them.
