For their 2nd round pick, the New York Giants select, Brian Winters, Guard, Kent State University

The left side of NYG's OL is shaky. Winters can come in and start at LG day 1. He can also slide over to OT in-game if someone goes down.

    Sorry for the delay gents!

Good pick. I think he is going to be a very good linemen.

Re: Russell Street community mock draft

For their second round pick, Chicago selects Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia.

The Bears have two big-bodied WR's in Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. They also have a nice chain-mover in Earl Bennett. What they don't have (after parting ways with Johnny Knox and Devin Hester likely not returning) is an explosive, big-play receiver who can return kicks and punts.

Austin is a bit on the smallish side (5'9" 175-180lbs), but he is absolutely electric with the ball in his hands. He can do all of the things that Devin Hester did as a return specialist, but he is a much more fluid receiver. He'd be an outstanding slot option for the Bears. Marc Trestman is all about the offense and getting Jay Cutler as many weapons as possible. Austin's deep threat ability would also add a new wrinkle and give Cutler some options to air it out.

Haha. So, go for Stedman Bailey. He isn't the home run threat that Tavon is, but that dude is actually a better receiver. Though, looking at the rest of the board, I can't see him sliding down to Carolina in round 3.

Quinton Patton might be a good get for you though.

I've heard a lot of talk about Austin being a perfect player for the Bears offense. There is definitely a link there.

Great pick, come draf time I think he might sneak into the first round. Dude is as explosive as anyone I can recall playing. Gethim the ball in space and he eats up field FAST.

I think he would be a great fit for Chicago.

Brandon Marshall is going to command a ton of attention and I think if Jeffery can stay healthy, he and Bennett will be a decent #2 set up. Austin in the slot with those guys? Money.

    hmmm the Readkins....

The Washington Redskins select, David Amerson, S/CB, NC State
The Redskins have MAJOR issues in the secondary, they couldn't cover anything. Most of the blame is because of the ineptitude of their safeties, but the corners weren't much better, Josh Wilson is a decent player, but they literally have nothing outside of him. Amerson is a ballhawk, but has issues running deep with speedy WRs. That's why I think he would be a starter at FS, he can drop back in coverage and do a lot of things there. I think he has potential to be a great center fielder in the NFL, and could slide over to CB to cover any injuries etc...
