    How can you dog Pierce?

He hasn't watched him play if he can say anything bad about him.

Pierce is never tackled by the first defender.

I am going old school (MEDIEVAL!!) as in Ravens 2000 defensive performance...:hammer:

    Ravens 32
    Niners. 9

    Joe...MVP :respect
    Kruger/Ngata with a sack/safety
    Akers 3/4 on fg's

    CK...deer in the headlights!!!

38-20 Ravens. Flacco/Caldwell will open it up and go aggressive early (they will have studied how Tom Brady diced up that defense in the regular season). The 49ers will trail by too much to be effective with that pistol, and the Ravens defense will hold up fairly well. MVP to Flacco, but a surprise contributor will be Ed Dickson, catching two scores just to throw this board into a tizzy.

Okay, the last bit is a stretch, but Flacco will carve up the middle of the field with Pitta and Boldin.

The Ravens need to start out in the no huddle and keep their nose tackle in the game, Matt Birk, KO, and Yanda will push him up and down all over the field with a mix of Flacco and Rice running the show in the no huddle. The crowd noise wont be that bad, so we should be good.

    Ravens 20 49ers 16.
MVP = Ed Reed with a pick 6, Joe also plays great.
Talking Heads are aghast again, while we Ravens fans just relish it.

PS: Ray does not actually ascend through the roof but certainly elevates the team, we'll miss him!

Super Bowls III, V, VII and IX (3, 5, 7 and 9) were all low-scoring affairs which featured newcomers to the game (actually 6 of the 8 teams). The only non-newcomer to win was Baltimore (SB V). In Super Bowl XLVII, the Forty-Niners are technically not newcomers BUT none of their players have been there before - unlike the Ravens (Lewis). Neither the Ravens or the Niners have ever lost a Super Bowl. So, obviously, 'something has to give' this time. The Steelers were 4-0 lifetime before they lost SB XXX which came 16 years after their previous win. The Niners are 5-0 lifetime and it has been 18 years since their last SB. The Ravens have a direct connection to their last SB victory, 12 years ago, and it just happens to be their current motivational leader. The Niners have no such connection. Super Bowl experience does matter.

And overall experience also matters - regular season and playoffs. The Ravens clearly have more of that as well - especially at QB.

I see a defense-dominated, low-scoring affair (big surprise) with turnovers abound. I see Flacco and the Ravens keeping their composure, keeping their focus. Not so much with the Forty-Niners.

MVP: Flacco (for the entire postseason, shared with his O-line)
    score: BAL 10 SF 7

The most memorable moment will be the emotional, post-game hug of the Brothers Harbaugh.

I just hope we don't try to "establish the run" over and over if the 49ers are gearing to stuff it. The first half of the New England game was not up to par offensively, almost entirely due to play selection. We need to have more than 7 points at the half on Sunday.

    I'll say Ravens 27, 49ers 24

    MVP: Flacco

49ers 30-20. Partly wishful thinking and part of it is just that their offense is, IMO, too dynamic for the Ravens to handle. It'll be interesting through the 3rd quarter and the 49ers pull away in the 4th.

Wishing you all the worst of luck ;) but here's to the greatest gawd damn game of the year!!

Just like we couldn't stop your no huddle offense huh? Its funny how people forget that we shut you guys out in the 2nd half, the same offense that scores over 30 on this vaunted 9ers defense.
