Driving is a nightmare around the city. In addition to the superbowl, NOLA is in the middle of Marde Gras season. Marching bands and music everywhere. Like I said, it's an absolute madhouse. Big game tomorrow. Yet, all I can see are hoards of Ravens and (surprisingly) Saints fan. Not a SF fan anywhere to be seen
Its been about 5-1, or more Ravens to Niner fans, or even more . The mood is extremely positive, the confidence level is almost scary-- 49ers fans seem think a higher power is conspiring against them. One thing everyone agrees its been an incredible experience here for everyone.

    T,
No, I am not making the trip over. Too much hassle and too little funds at this point. I am getting together with a group of Ravens fans to watch the game at a condo on the water, so that will be cool.
Have fun down there and GO RAVENS!!!

    Hi NOLARavenFan!

so sorry I wasn't able to communicate with you or the other wonderful fans on here while we were in NOLA. everything started out really bad..no internet, I didn't have any of my password info...that lot was exactly as you described...AWFUL! By luck we actually arrived super late and parked on wrong parking lot across the street. When we woke, we discovered our mistake...put in a cancel on CC and the guy running the lot across the street was so nice and had a spot for us...YAAY!

Now for the amazing part! We met Steve Bisciotti!!!! We were hanging out at the Hilton hoping to glimpse a few players getting onto the buses and instead out walked Mr. Bisciotti. We started yelling and cheering and he came over and spoke with my daughter and my son and asked how we got here this and that and we told him we drove 24 hr straight in RV and we didn't have tix but we came anyway. He asked my son actually if he was going to the game and my son replies no, but we wanted to but couldn't afford the tickets. Mr. Bisciotti replied...."Well now you do"...he handed my son TWO SUPER BOWL TICKETS! We went ballistic! The video is on youtube under Steve Bisciotti Super Bowl 47--someone in the crowd posted it for me. I will try and put it on here if it's possible. On the way driving home yesterday I called into 105.7 The Fan and told our story. It was amazing! My 10 yr old son has never been to a game so his very first game he goes to Ravens Super Bowl AND THEY WIN!!!!

I just had to share this story with everyone here. I hope I can figure out how to put up the video on here. My fb is debbie fore if you want to friend request to see all the pictures and videos...

we had the time of our lives down there....your city was so welcoming and kind to us we are definitely coming back. locals asked to take pictures with our group--we had a Ravens Fun Club Sing Along Chant with a bus load of NOLA locals and even a few fans from opposing teams...it was unbelievable--we videotaped that as well.

We were only 5 blocks from the Super Dome...so my hubby and my son walked to the game while we went down to Crazy Lobster to watch the game since we were unable to get internet to work to livestream the game. It was alll good.

Your city is something special NOLA!

Take care and thanks again for all your wonderful help,
    GO RAVENS! SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!

    Hi Nola

I posted the youtube link on Russell Streets' facebook page.

The youtube title has Steve's last name spelled incorrectly...someone in the crowd posted for me--I'm trying to repost it with a different title but until then...here it is. I'm the lunatic screaming for my husband..."Junior!!!" LOL. My oldest son is wearing the white Flacco jersey and my daughter is wearing purpole Torrey Smith jersey and my youngest son, Derrick, is the one waving the tickets in the air. Still can't believe it all happened. Here is a copy of the link, but if you search Steve Biscoitti Super Bowl 47 it comes up under his name mis spelled.

God bless to all of you again for all your help.

TOO COOL! Long story involving the parking lot "issues", but figured- when we didn't see your RV- that you made it in the upscale lot next door. Sorry we missed seeing everyone there but was a SUPER time!

    Ngata Yard,
Yes..hopefully you got to view the video..I look like a lunatic! LOL This is the greatest thing that's ever happened for our family so we were of course VERY emotional. We LOVE our Ravens and to have my youngest son attend his very first game with my hubby AND it's the SB??? And it's Ray's last game? And The Ravens Win??? It's just beyond believable.

Nola was sooo right about that other RV lot...when we got in so late we just ended up on the wrong lot and when we woke up and found out what happened...and we saw that big old EMPTY lot across the street that was where we paid to stay? We all flipped out and went back to the lot across the street and the guy there was sooo nice...even gave us electric for free!

What was your parking "issues"? Same as ours? We put in a cancel/stop on our CC so we will see if our CC company backs us up that crappy company ripping people off.

We had a cool time on the new lot...we even did redneck hair washings right there on the lot LOL with our "shower bags". Lots of friendly people stopped by and there was a CBS news RV parked infront of us and we got to met Seth & Les From HardCore Pawn cuz they were giving an interview with the news crew just when we were getting back from meeting Steve B.--when they heard about us getting the tickets, Seth wanted to take a picture with us LOL--they were really funny and cool.

Our internet wouldn't work for some reason so our plans to watch the game via live streaming from internet was epic failure but considering what happend with the tix..I wasn't about to complain so I gathered up the remaining 11 of us and hurried down to the Crazy Lobster to watch the game.

HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES! I'm probs on youtube somewhere with my crazy big butt doing The Squirrel cuz when the 49ers were making a comback, I swore if the Ravens held onto the lead I would do it so I had to make good on my promise LOL. I mangled the dance but I did my crazy best and everyone there cracked up and we WON! so it was fun to be crazy!

I cannot wait to return to NOLA...the locals were sooo welcoming and friendly--we had a whole bus singing and chanting our What Time is it and Oooh-oooh-ohhh along with us--including the bus driver and 1 special 49ers fan and a Colts fan too...absolutely once in a lifetime experience. I only wish we could have met up with some of the amazing fans on this site. But there is always next Super Bowl, right? LOL. I am glad to hear everyone here on this site had a blast! Ravens fans truly are the best fans!

So sorry to have missed you! Seemed like we were nonstop on the run from the time we parked. Your city is AMAZING! Everyone was sooo friendly and welcoming. I cannot wait to return. I have to ask...is the "energy" the same for Mardi Gras? We probs would leave our 10 yr old son home for it due to all the craziness. I would want to book our RV stay in a REAL campground for Mardi Gras next year (IF Ravens aren't in the SB again LOL if so, we WILL be off to NY LOL). But my group fell IN LOVE with your city and the locals. We didn't really get to try any of the recommended places for authentic regional food but if we did MG next year, that would be #1.

Anyway, just wanted to thank you again for all your help and advice and just wanted to let you know how much we LOVED your city.
