Re: Billick still doesn't totally get situational football
LOL!
All kidding aside, there is a reason that guys like Billick, Cowher, and even Holmgren keep getting mentioned as potential HC hires - they all have that magical piece of jewelry that everyone in the league wants.
It's the same reason that some ex-coaches who had moderate success will never have HC positions again - the didn't get the hardware.

Football coaches aren't geniuses. They try to over complicate something that is very simple often times. Billick was the classic case of confusing your players. It's a very simple game.

Re: Billick still doesn't totally get situational football
I just heard tonight that the Eagles interviewed Billick but he is one of at least eight people they've interviewed, and I haven't heard (and don't know how anyone could have heard) that he's a "leading candidate." Having said that, I hope that if he actually wants to return to coaching, I hope he gets the job. I was under the impression that he enjoyed what he's been doing these past few years with Fox and NFL Network and wasn't that interested in returning to coaching anymore, but if he wants to get back into it, I'd love to see it (as long as it's with a team that I don't intensely dislike -- I'd hate him to go to a team like the Redskins or Cowboys).
