Re: WNST Reports Ray Lewis Will Retire After 2012 Season
It's time.
But it is definitely still sad and seems surreal.Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Re: WNST Reports Ray Lewis Will Retire After 2012 Season
Ray Lewis is the greatest middle-linebacker and leader to ever play the game. I don't think his type of player will be seen again.

Agreed that it's time, but majorly agreed that it still knocks the wind out of my chest knowing I won't see #52 on that field after this season.
Ray, your presence as a Raven will be missed. Defined this franchise for so long, and in an age where we end up supporting the laundry and not the players, we were lucky to have him here for his full 17 year career and witness so many great moments from him. A sad day for sure.

As soon as I heard the news, I immediately went online and got my tickets.
This will be my first Ravens game ever. I'm so filled with a swelling combination of excitement and bittersweetness.

It's a good thing I don't have a valid passport, I'd be booking tickets and flights about now.

Re: Ray Lewis to Retire (Merged)
Well, when I was younger my parents never took me (games are expensive + logistical hassle for people who are not diehard fans). From 2007 to 2011 I went to college in Chicago, and for this past year I was living abroad in Turkey. Just returned to the States and I guess this is the best last chance you can get.
