Flacco Closing in on 4,000 yards.
With his 309 today, that puts him at 3,783 by my calculations.
217 yards against the Bengals would do it.

I do to. He already has a new career high with what he did today. 4,000 would be great.

Meh. Nearly everyone throws for 4,000 yards these days. Its like what 3,000 yards was 20 years ago.

Re: Flacco Closing in on 4,000 yards.
And no, not "nearly every QB" does it. Right now only 8 out of the 32 starters are above 4,000 yards.
Brees
Stafford
Romo
Brady
Ryan
P. Manning
Luck
Palmer
Right now there are guys like Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, Philip Rivers and RG3 that aren't there. In fact, Flacco is ahead of all of them except Rodgers. The only two QB's right now ahead of Joe that aren't at 4,000 yet are Rodgers and Josh Freeman.
So maybe by the end of next week, Flacco would be in company of about 12-14 QB's with 4,000 yards or more. And considering the offensive sputtering we've had this year, especially on the road, Flacco getting to 4,000 would be a big deal and a pretty damn good stepping stone to future success.

Re: Flacco Closing in on 4,000 yards.
A 16 game season, with pass crappy rules, no grounding outside the pocket, Olineman can hold, Db;s can't even touch a WR.....anybody can throw for 4k these days. An impressive stat these days are QB sacks in this holding/no grounding/ roughing the the QB era. Now 48 yard FGs are chipshots, used to be a really difficult kick. Special balls for kickers and no jumping to block the kick. Game is technobowl. Officiating and the NFL rules committee ruined a once entertaining sport. Just get better helmuts and change the rules back, especially the grounding rule.

Re: Flacco Closing in on 4,000 yards.
Mark Sanchez
Cam Newton
Philip Rivers
Sam Bradford
Brandon Weeden
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Ryan Ranehill
Christian Ponder
These guys have no shot, and it's not a lock Eli Manning or Matt Schaub will hit 4,000 and the Texans currently have the #1 seed.
4,000 yards is still a big deal.
