    Boldin Injury?

I saw Boldin come off the field and not come back but got up quick and walked/jogged off on his own power.

Does anyone know anything or if its serious?

I assume he was sitting next week anyway.

is it serious or anything? like a sprain or broken shoulder that could cause him to miss extended time.

I haven't heard or read anything... beyond seeing what everyone else saw on TV. From watching his landing I suspect it's possibly a separated shoulder (AC Joint). If he can lift his arm to catch, he'll play. I suppose it could be a broken collar bone... that would suck.

But this is pure speculation on my part. Hopefully it's a bruise and he's good to go.

If he broke his collarbone he would have been in way more pain. They probably just left him out cause they had a strong lead. He'll play

He seems like a great candidate to sit the next game out and get healthy for wildcard weekend.

There's been a lot of critics of Boldin on this board the last few weeks and people saying he can't catch. He sure could catch yesterday. He's not a big TD guy but he sure can move the chains when used effectively.

that criticism has been warranted. He has dropped a ton of balls this season. With how streaky Joe has been, he really needs guys to hold on to the ball when he puts it on them. Boldin gets paid like a top receiver in the game. He needs to hold on to the ball most games like he did against the Giants and that isn't the case.

Leave it to Harbaugh to call it a shoulder bruise. It's probably something worse that a guy as tough as Boldin just flinches at.

I've criticized him. He didn't look like Boldin the previous several weeks. Defenders were out-muscling Boldin to the ball, and that's always been his game. He's never had the speed to run away from defenders. He used his size and body to block them out and catch the football.

Boldin looked like Boldin of old out there yesterday, however. That seam route where he broke tackles to get us a first down on a 3rd and 18 was vintage Boldin. He's always been like a running back cut loose in the secondary when he catches the ball...until he became part of the Cameron offense.

He's Mason w/ more meat on his bones. I love the the YAC he delivers, even if it is only the full extension of his body as he hits the ground. Joe was hitting him on crossing and underneath routes (remember those?) in very tight windows. A tougher, rip-stop nylon, security blanket, if you will.

Yes, the Dude has had some drops (as have such diverse receivers as Pitta, Torey Smith, Ray Rice, Jones, etc.)
Of that list including Boldin, Q is the most likely to successfully carry the team on his back for a series or longer (e.g. AZ home 2010 or final drive in AFCCG 2012).

I know.... I just think it's funny whena commentator or announcer of what have you, says "He's out with a knee" or "he's out with a shoulder"
