Not sure if you heard them talk about the quote from Harbaugh but he said they were intent on not allowing any big plays. they were willing to give up the underneath stuff as long as they didn't get burned.

Refs tried, but couldn't make the game for the giants. Want to see what the NFL has to say about the TD that wasn't a TD. Or the helmet to helmet call on Reed that was shoulder to helmet. Flacco had plenty of time and the receivers caught most of his passes. Defense stopping the great eli and getting pressure on eli. Gotta admit eli was let down by his receivers and still completed some awesome passes as he was either being tackled or chased.

That opened up holes for Rice and Pearce to run through, and they bounced outside when needed.

YES! And how about the use of the middle of the field, crossing routes by Torrey and Ray ended up in TDs.
A great down the seem pass inside the numbers to Boldin and the double move by Torrey for that long catch when he outmanuevered Webster down to the one.
Yanda being back was huge and Ellerbe, too.
    Yes, props to Caldwell.

Exactly! All our receivers weren't running deep routes down the sidelines. Caldwell figured out that there is a whole new area to send receivers, which is the middle of the field.

    GOTA-
I think your points are all well made. To add, I think the D showed some interesting creativity and "stoutness". Next man up...

They weren't letting that happen at home this time.

There was a real intensity on defense and some more creativity on offense. Receivers made contested catches. Runners ran through the tightest of holes. Different attitude got back the same old results at home
Spot on !!! And the feeling from the fans was like the pre-Steelers games. You could feel the energy and the "fire" on both sides of the ball. Execution was [generally] better; and when it was not, it did not carry over to the next series.

I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the pocket moved. No question Caldwell has improved from last week and based on this small sample size of 2 games, has gotten a feel for the players and what position to put them in.

This. The pass plays were quicker. He attacked the edge early with the run: the very first run play was Rice off the left tackle. He forced the defense to defend the whole field, and gave Flacco options to get rid of the ball quickly.

Instead of Flacco taking 5 and 7 step drops and the O-line not being able to hold off the rush long enough for the receivers to work themselves open downfield, he was taking 3 and 5 step drops with shorter patterns early. That let him and the O get into rhythm, and it helped the O-line because they didn't have to poss-pro so long.

This was more of what the Coryell is supposed to look like than Cameron was trying to do. They ran the ball, and threw for first downs when they had to. They didn't try to force the big play. The big plays will come: sooner or later the defense is going to try and cheat up and take away the shorter stuff.

Ding! Ding!! Ding!!! Winnah!! Easy answer. Caldwell has this offense up tempo and aggressively attacking the middle of the field. Caldwell is the difference.
