    Max protect Flacco

Use full backfield, 2 halfbacks and a fullback. Ravens need 5 to 7 minute drives to keep our defence off the field. Also, it's easier to run block.

Want be easier to run block when there's about 10 men in the box all knowing what's going to happen.

    Exactly.

What we need to do is keep other defenses off balance and run the no huddle around 90 % of the game. Use a smash mouth no huddle system and pound the ball with Rice while dink and dunking it, then the odd deep shot. I just this offense is better suited for the short/quick passing game rather than dropping back and throwing it up in the air.

We did this so well against the Bengals, and other teams earlier on in the year but got away from it because of some bad road performances.

Gotta stick to the short stuff and hit em deep only periodically. It all depends on which O-Line shows up. Joe has his shot now what with Cam gone. It'll be interesting Sunday, but I worry about our pass defense against Manning....

IDK about 3-back looks, but the 'Skins teed off on the empty backfield sets - let's lose those. Don't fall into patterns w/ Leach by which his absence signals pass. He's gotten good yardage on short, waggle-esque routes across the flats these last 2 games.

True dat on TOP/longer drives. Even should the low percentage deep passes work, they make for quicker scores that put our banged up D back out there quickly.

This defense is going to get killed, quick or slow. Set the offense up to score as many points as possible.

That's the only way they're going to win this game. The offense has to keep scoring touchdowns.

And oh John? If the Ravens win the coin toss, let's not defer and put the "defense" out on the field first, m'kay?

I do not understand why Leach is taken off the field as often as he is. He's a great passblocker, and a more then adequate receiver.

So in part, I agree with the post, but to a lesser degree. I'd rather see a TE on the field as opposed to having rice, pierce and Leach in the backfield.
I think the standard pro-style 2 WR , 1 TE, 1 FB, 1 RB set is what works best for this offense, passing and running. Occasionally dropping a TE for an extra WR is a better move, IMO then dropping Leach. He is a FAR better pass protector then any TE we can put on the field. An obvious passing set with 3 WR's and sa split backfield will help BOTH OT's out, and they will surely need it against Von MIller and Dumervil.

Fully agree with that ! Being said will be at the game tmorow tho it's going to be a weird but great feeling not having Cam around , Joe has got to move that ball and fast score as much points and keep the D off field , not sure we will see a dramatic change in play Sunday but I'm hoping that Flacco is excited to show us what he can do with the cord cut from Cam ! So huddle in Ravens fam it's going to be a hella game at the bank !!! Lets go Ravens .

Implementing a short passing attack will do more for the passing game than max protection will. In max-pro they're going to rely on the receivers winning one on one match ups, which isn't something they've been able to do on a consistent basis.
