The Broncos also took a QB last year but until he gets a chance there is no way to know what he is.
3 years from now Weeden will be in a nursing home. Worst 1st round pick ever...

Well, you say 15 over 3 or 4 and I say 22 over 5, that's pretty much the same number, right around 4m a year. I agree that he's not worth Winston money so that's why I put an extra year on there.

It doesn't matter how many years or whatever, the important thing is to save money for 2013 and not overpay long-term, that sounds like around 4m a year however they want to structure it. I myself have been one of Oher's harshest critics over the years but there is no reason not to keep him around long-term preferably at RT.

Getting rid of Leach, Birk, Williams, BA and Adkins would save us $7,686,666 against the cap.
those are not total cap numbers, are those the savings if cut? seems abotu right for that.

Who the eff is Spencer Adkins?

Guy they signed right before the SB to a "future contract".

He was an outside linebacker down in Atlanta. Not a bad player. Could be a nice depth/ST's guy.

Yeah. Savings if cut. Got the numbers from overthecap.com

No clue. LB apparently. Drafted by ATL (3rd year player I think). $630k too pricey for a nobody. As far as I can tell he pretty much contributed nothing.

I never said there weren't any, but compared to most years, it hasn't been nearly as bad IMHO.

I'm not even really counting Pat White as he was drafted as a gimmick player...I don't think the Dolphins had any intention of him ever being an NFL QB.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

The 630K is probably the minimum they can pay him. He's been in the league for 3-4 years IIRC.

What about the cap savings from Ray Lewis retiring?

Our FO misses like everyone else's, but thank Gawd we're not CLE, OAK, JAC or NYJ.

So, that would mean a total cap savings of about $12 million. Depending on how the Ravens structure Flacco's deal, they should still be able to field a very competitive team and pay Flacco Top 5 QB money. But aren't there other contracts (Suggs, Ngata) who will have bigger cap hits next year?
