Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread
I loved Decker coming out, i loved Tandon Doss almost as much. I know i'll get creamed on this board for this but i think Doss is very similar. Great hands, savvy, sneaky athletes that can beat you deep if your aren't careful. I think his role will continue to expand i think he's ready for it.

I kinda like this fella here if we hold off for 2014.
Benavides fans can watch him here too.

Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread
I like Bridgewater but he's probably a top 5 pick in 2014 (assuming he comes out of course, hard to predict at this point) and I think he's overrated to be in that range. Good enough arm strength, good enough athleticism, good enough measurables, and he plays in a pro-style offense. I just don't really see anything incredible about his game that suggests to me he can be one of the best QBs in the NFL, which is what you ought to get as a top 5 pick QB. He's all around solid but nothing exceptional. Maybe I should watch more. I did watch him play with a broken wrist last month, absolutely incredible toughness from the kid. THAT is exceptional, I'll say that much.
One thing I'm focusing on really tightly in my QB evaluation now is placing a lot of weight on how a prospect plays when his OL is breaking down, WRs are dropping passes, etc... basically when everything is going wrong. I'm valuing QBs more when they play well under those conditions and de-emphasizing their play not under pressure and when all is well.
Bridgewater doesn't seem to face much pressure, from what I've seen. I'm also holding that against Mike Glennon, I guy I have been high on previously, but after re-watching some he just doesn't face a lot of pressure and when he does he doesn't play well. It's noteworthy how often guys like Zac Dysert and (to a lesser extent) Ryan Nassib face adversity... both of those guys just play on awful teams that lead to a lot of problems.. but they still play well. Think those guys are underrated.

I still like Aaron Murray.
Jeff Tuel out of Washington State is also interesting.

Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread
I know this...Ozzie better NOT trade out of the first round again. I don't care who is or isn't available.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread
You think so? Every scouting service I've seen has him ranked as a UDFA prospect. Should I watch some tape? If so, any recommendations?
I like Aaron Murray fairly well. If he measures in at 6'0 flat at the Combine (and I think he will), he might take a tumble in the draft... which is good. That would enable the Ravens to get him much later than he ought to go... maybe in the 3rd or even 4th instead of the 2nd.
I still like Zac Dysert the most of all the prospects I've looked at extensively. You should really watch some of his tape if you haven't.

Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread
We will suffer not dumping Cam soon enough. Flacco is going to get franchised cause even if he stinks it up, FO will say they haven't seen enough of him under a diferent OC.
I would like to:
say thanks to Joe for all he's done... And dump him.
Trade up for a run specialist OL around Rnd 1, 10-15
Sign a great run heavy OC and OL coach
Draft mainly on D with remaining picks, FS asap then best available
Pay and f'ing use Leach alot
Not resign Lewis, :( Reed or Flacco.
Use any remaining cap space on D, possibly blocking TE who isnt a liability catching
Run, Play action, get people WIDE open,
Give the ball to that guy Rice!!!
Pros
Ravens identity football
Plenty cap space for FA
Game Manager QB would 'suffice' for time being if WRs are wide open
Age of team decreases dramatically
Cons
Losing many leaders
Returns to and old problem of weak @ QB
Flacco would prob sign for CLE and rip us up twice a yr
Whilst I think there is little to no chance of this happening, I am actually ridiculously excited to see what OS activity does go down.

Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread
I was too. Both he and Jordy Nelson I was REALLY high on coming out of those drafts. I thought those two guys were going to be solid players in the NFL.
I can see Tandon Doss in a similar role as Decker. He isn't as big as Decker (6'2" 205lbs vs 6'3" 215lbs), but they both have similar qualities as a receiver.Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.

Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread
I've seen some of Dysert and he is interesting. I would be cool with them taking a flier later in the draft. He's pretty mobile for a guy his size. I'm afraid that coming out of Miami of Ohio people will automatically assume that he'll be as good as Roethlisberger, and I don't see that kind of ability there.
I like Murray because he puts really nice tough on his passes and he's an intelligent player. He takes care of the football as well and it isn't like Georgia has top notch receivers anymore. Tarvares King is "ok", but that's really about it...
Regarding Tuel - I think he is a big, strong QB who could be similar to a Chad Henne kind of player. He'd be a decent guy to have compete for a back up spot. Washington State hasn't been very good since...well...since Mark Brunnell or Drew Bledsoe were there. So, it is kind of hard to gauge how good Tuel could be.
Before he got busted for off-field stuff, Casey Pachal out of TCU was looking like a good prospect.Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.
