I think it was a 3 year actually.

the 49ers worked out a three-year deal with Smith in a way that provided the team with an opportunity to get out of the deal each year.
    Still not likely scenario however.

Yeah. Both are old, injury history, SB champs.

If NE wants a veteran presence in the 2ndary, either would do (even though we know Bill's mancrush for Reed).

    Ok then.

I keep seeing his name being listed as a FA qb.

Revis is about 10 times more valuable than Alex Smith IMO.

Smith will revert back to his first 5-6 year performance away from SF. Smith is nothing special, and I've read the market is cold for him.

Teams know the 49ers will cut him, so why trade for him?

Last year only the 49ers and Dolphins expressed true interest in him, and the 49ers were in the Peyton sweepstakes.

I wouldn't give anything of value for Alex Smith personally.

    .
diagree, there is an imbalance there, but not nearly like you mention.

Revis, coming off a major injury, has 1 year remaining before he cn void the rest of his MASSIVE contract.

Alex Smith is affordably signed for a mid range starting Qb with 2 years remaining.

It is not equal but it is closer then you mention.

Don't see the obsession with Alex Smith. If I was a Jets fan or a KC fan, I'd rather try like fuck to trade for a Nick Foles or Kirk Cousins who are young with plenty of talent. You know what you're getting with Alex Smith, Trent Difler.

makes sense. Of the previously considered top 3 LT's, Clady had the best season between them(Joe Thomas, Jake Long). Peyton needs him.

Kirk Cousins has no chance of changing teams. He may play 8-16 games for Washignton this year, adn they likely will want to ensure RGNoKnee is back to form before pursuing suitors for him.

I actually think Eugene Monroe or Duane Brown have a shout at being the best LT in the game right now.

And Smith now has a concussion history. I wasn't really counting injury history in my assessment of the players

Revis is a shut down corner.

Smith is a mediocre QB that will do nothing without a dominant defense and dominant run game, and an OFF scheme built to minimize his weaknesses. aka the first 5-6 years of his career.
