    Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread

QB/RB/WR Denard Robinson looks like he is going to be taking reps as a receiver at the Senior Bowl.

The guy is stupid fast and athletic. Decent size, 6'/6'1" 195-200lbs.

If he performs well at the Senior Bowl as a receiver (good routes, good hands, etc) then I could see a team picking him up as a 3rd or 4th rounder.

    Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread

I selfishly want as many top juniors to come out as that just pushes more good players down to us who are always drafting at the bottom of the round. So yes, the selfish part of me is annoyed that Matthews, Lewan and Mosely (who I REALLY wanted here, but it's obvious at this point that whenever he declares he is going to be a top 15 pick) decide to stay in school.

But really, I can never be mad at a kid for staying in school...I'm assuming they will graduate.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

I'd like to see Taylor Lewan to go up to a guy like Ray Lewis and say "In the NFL, you just come and go.".

I know it's one game, but I don't want a guy that got trucked in the biggest game of his life...on the goal line of all places!
After 5 years of early exits, the journey is finally complete.

One of the few guys for which the "Draft bowls" AND the Combine will really mean a lot. Curious to see his hands and feet myself. No expectations... just curious.

That speed and size tore him up. Not sure what I think about him now. Need to re-watch film...

Well, you know he is going to run a stupid 40.

I remember reading about him as a freshman at Michigan and supposedly he ran in the mid 4.2's consistently. I know he is athletic as hell, so I could totally see teams that like to spread the ball out taking a gamble on him in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th rounds as a slash/return specialist type of player.

    Re: New draft/FA/offseason thread

Some other guys to check out:

Dallas Thomas, Tennessee, 6'5" 310lbs. Can play guard and tackle. Mid 2nd round grade most likely. Could sneak into the early 2nd if OT's start flying off the board.

RJ Mattes, NC State, 6'6" 309lbs. Predominately a LT. Probably a 5th or 6th rounder. Not a very high ceiling, but would be good depth with possible starting capability.

Quinton Dial, Alabama, DT/DE, 6'6" 300lbs. Very solid 5-tech guy. I think he is pretty underrated. With a big combine he could go in the bottom of the 2nd round to a 3-4 team. Probably a mid 3rd round grade though.

Greg Blair, Cinci, LB, 6'1" 251lbs. Another underrated player IMO. Could be a nice project guy in the 5th or 6th rounds.

Patrick Larimore, UCLA, LB, 6'3" 253lbs. Kind of a poor man's James Laurinaitis.

Brandon Bishop, NC State, FS, 6'2" 203lbs. I like this guy. Solid, consistent, all around football player.

I like Bishop a lot. He was the first FS I like this year actually. He seems like the kind of cat that could have a nice career. Would love to have him here.
