I definitely don't understand quarterback ratings. I'm looking at the box score, and Flacco is 7/10 for 103 with 3 TD's and no picks, Griffin is 6/9 for 122 and 1 TD, and Flacco's QBR is 142.9 and Griffin's is 146.8.

19 yards makes that much of a difference?

It's yards per attempt that makes the big difference. Joe's is 10.3, RGIII's is 13.5. That in itself outweighs the difference in TD%

Nobody understands QB ratings, which is why it's becoming an irrelevant stat. There's another QB stat that PSU uses a lot, though I can't remember what it's called, that's a much better barometer of a QB's success.
