I truly believe he's being coached to stay in the pocket, trust his line , and wait for the receiver to get open.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, he can and has done it before and with great success.

He ain't no Fran Tarkenton or Steve Young, but he can move and run for positive yardage eliminating sacks and keeping the chains moving.

Maybe it is Flacco making the decision to stay there, don't know, but there's plenty of past footage of him earlier in his career here and at Delaware where it seemed he'd do it with little hesitation after making a quick decision whether to stay or go.

To me, you don't lose this part of your game that you brought with you into the NFL by happen chance, I think it more has to be taken from you, and the dude is no where near old enough for father time to be taking it at this point in his career.
To add to that, why did he suddenly start using his legs again in the AFC Championship Game?

An all or nothing situation perhaps? Given free reign?

Looked like no receiver came back to him, so he had to run.

    Every receiver going deep?
    On 3rd down?
    Again?

Well, clearly it's the players' fault for not executing.
I mean, what else could it be?

Thats why you actually have a few WRs run short routes so they can come back to help out their QB in a scramble drill. You can't do it on deep routes.

or maybe flacco has never had the ability to improvise...he has terrible pocket awareness and never steps up into the pocket to avoid edge rushers

did anyone feel that in OT Joe could have run for that 1st down, but seemed preoccupied with looking around? RGIII comes out on one leg and Joe didnt have sense of urgency...

I am at a loss here

    Why? Multiple choice answer'

    A. Because he's a moron
    B. Because he's an idiot
    C. Because he's incompetent
    D. Because he's stupid
    E. All of the above

    I realize that it's a tough question - but please - hazzard a guess!

Yet, rollouts are rare, and called QB runs are nonexistent, so opposing defenses don't have to worry about them. That makes defending the Ravens easier. I thought the job of an OC is to make defending his team more difficult. That doesn't seem to be the case here.
