Thread: Ray's Back!

    Ray's Back!

Figured most people knew by now but I didn't see a thread on it

Ray Lewis is practicing today officially. RT this if you're pumped! #Ravens
    Also

CB Jimmy Smith was also dressed and practicing today for #Ravens. RT to spread the news.
I'm guessing with the play of Graham, Jimmy slides back to nickel (if he's able to play).

Yeah, I'd imagine he replaces C. Brown.

Jimmy Smith is set to return? Is he trying to play this weekend?

I don't know to be honest. I would guess if he's practicing this week he'd be targeting next week to play.

Jimmy Cary and Graham in the slot is decent.

At this point, I actually prefer Corey Graham over Jimmy Smith, given each of their on the field performances.

On the outside anyway. I'd like Jimmy in the slot playing press coverage.

True but if he gets his head out of his ass and stops staring in the back field he could be good.

Jimmy who? He's behind Williams and Graham on the depth chart for sure. If Chris Jackson could go, that might drop him another notch.

Goober & Eli are sure to air it out against us. Having Jimmy for depth and to give breathers to starters will be useful, but I haven't seen the skills I expected from him yet.

As for Ray, be careful what you wish for. I like his on field leadership and recognition/play-calling, but it won't be like the time off gave him back a step or 2. He'll still be the older, less mobile, "my T's now come 5-7yds behind the LOS" Ray Ray,just a little fresher.

I want Ray and Ellerbe in the middle personally

    Yes, exactly.
While Ray played, our Dline got blown off the ball.
Hard to make tackles when YOUR own 300+ pounders are getting pushed into you.
When Suggs came back, that began to change.
We need all of them back in there at the same time.
Ray and Ellerbe on the inside and Suggs and Upshaw at the edges.
