Re: Raiders parting ways with Rolando McClain?
I have to couple this news with Aaron Curry being released.
It is starting to smell like a locker room/ management power play going on.
I saw Schottenheimer do it in Washington
Haley do it in Denver
Some decent players with tread on the tires surfaced for free to other teams, and some traded.
Now I get the impression that since Oakland has train-wrecked, the hack and wack has started
Just guessing though.... no idea of the details except what I've seen mentioned here, I'll be reading what I canat one point of my life I was exactly Pi years old

Re: Raiders parting ways with Rolando McClain?
He would be if it weren't for the contract we gave Jameel, as it sits, I can't see them both being on the field at the same time at any point.
On scout, someone posted a statistical breakdown a raiders fan did based on PFF stats that painted Rolando as amongst the very best LBers in the loeague against the run, and amongst the very worsst LB'ers in the league agaisnt hte pass. that basically mirrors what i have seen watching him, the limited ammount that I have.

The money he is due, might actually lend itself to escorting him clear through waivers.

Re: Raiders parting ways with Rolando McClain?
When he came out I wanted him really bad for the Ravens (he looked like a perfect replacement for Ray) but figured we'd never get him and I was right. If he is let go I'd still want him (after the Ravens did their usual investigation) but I do not think we will have a chance at him (someone will pick him up first or his cap will be too high).

I feel sorry for the Raiders, they are a vital historic part of the NFL, I wish they were better than they are, Al Davis will be turning in his grave right now.

Re: Raiders parting ways with Rolando McClain?
I would love to get McClain. If he is released, no way the Ravens will have an opportunity to claim him off waivers -even if they wanted him.
Could it be possible to give up a 6th or 7th Rd pick and restructure his deal? Is that even an option?
I really wanted the Ravens to make a play for Aqib Talib, head case or not, and feel the same way about McClain - if they can restructure his deal.

D'Oh...I should have realized that. "Sources" say that he will be cut. I'm assuming he will then have to go through the waiver wire process? If so, I doubt we have a shot at him but would be ecstatic if we brought him in.

Re: Raiders parting ways with Rolando McClain?
look at film, he's getting blocked and becoming a non factor in the run game; of course with a solid D line that might not happen.
I seriously have no idea what the Raiders are doing.... is there a master plan - post Al?
