Again, it hinders legal gun owners further than they already have been hindered, requiring us to inform the government that I no longer have said weapon.
For example, my father gave me a Savage 24H over/under for Christmas. It was from the 1960's and is a rare, gorgeous weapon. He would have had to fill out an ATF transfer form just to give it to me.
So when the NRA says just enforce the laws we already have, the are looking at situations like Fast & Furious, where gun laws were ignored in favor of a different strategy. Instead of tracking guns, go after the fuckers that bought the weapons in the first place. The guns used were part of a mass straw purchase and, IIRC, the DoJ knows who made the purchase and have yet to file charges.
